#ResponsibleDrinking

Comrades in the business of beer and spirits!

Here’s a recipe book from a bygone age—printed in 1967 and breaking all the rules around portraying responsible drinking we now adhere to. 🍺🍷🍸🥂🥃

It’s illustrated by John Astrop and Eric Hill in the colourful psychedelic style associated with the late 60s.

Its misdemeanours include:

❌ Suggesting that drinking makes you more attractive

❌ Smoking

❌ Promoting unnecessary bulk buying for personal use

❌ Swigging from the bottle

❌ Raucous parties fuelled by alcohol

Feel free to cite any current examples that fly in the face of compliance but I’m going to guess there haven’t been any since about 1990…
