Work like this, or not at all.

READ AND DESTROY — Skateboarding through a British Lens ‘78 to ‘95.

RAD was a UK Skateboard magazine that was a lifeline for skaters in the late 80s and 90s under Tim Leighton-Boyce's editorship.

Although it was a formal thing, it had a proud DIY spirit.

DIY culture has always been a source of inspiration for the commercial world, which rarely namechecks or supports it.

The pioneers involved are largely unknown contributors, compelled to create and participate not for the glory or the money (chance would be a fine thing) but because they must, because they have the urge to.

The chance to be "a part of" something while being "apart from" everything else.

I read these words and think, if we’re working on a project or a brand without the same level of thinking, intent and passion as these hastily scribbled words on a bit of crappy paper, why are we even doing it at all?

It’s hard to read the words in the photo, so here they are.

They are the words of Ged Wells, a contributor to RAD magazine, skateboarder, visionary, and all round good lad.

Show people living.

RAD is a thing, a real life bible.

People will buy it, read it love it. Keep it, collect it re-read it, be part of it — discover in it discover from it. Use it.

RAD will have a worth it is not disposable because the ideas and belief in itself is not disposable.

If I believe in a disposable culture then I am disposable.

RAD is an opportunity to see things.

A creative outlet — a creative inlet.
